Instrumentale psychedelische drone band uit Chicago, met Rotten Milk (keys), Cooper Crain (gitaar, orgel), Dan Browning (bas) en Rex McMurry (drums) in de rangen.
"Formed in 2006, Cave has cycled through two cities—relocating to Chicago from Columbia, Missouri—and a number of musicians, but its sound has remained fairly consistent. The quartet draws heavy inspiration from German experimental rock music of the late 60s and early 70s, particularly rhythm-driven outfits like Can and Neu!. Cave’s compositions are sprawling, but tightly focused, employing simple major-key melodies to sustain the rhythms section’s hypnotic grooves. On previous LPs like Psychic Psummer and Neverendless, the band perfectly emulated its idols—nailing the recording techniques, the tonalities, and the playing style of continental Europe’s finest vintage head-music.
On Threace, the group’s second full-length for Drag City, Cave’s heart still beats to the motorik pulse, but they’ve broadened out their repertoire to include some of the other groovy, stoney sounds of the 70s." _pitchfork

"a collective of multi-instrumentalists from Saarlouis. Founded in 2003, they’ve been losing themselves in thewardrobes of their subconcious ever since and have never been frightened to play around with whatever they can find in there, trying out colourful sound-costumes and sending out psychedelic-experimental ‘Gruselkraut’ from the depths of this vast piece of furniture."
PRETTY LIGHTNING (de)
Blues Rock duo bestaande uit Datashockers Sebastian Haas en Drummer Christian Berghoff.
Brachten in 2012 de lp "There Are Witches in the Woods" uit op Fonal Records.
"Pretty Lightning was formed in 2007 by two childhood friends Christian Berghoff and Sebastian Haas, who grew up together in a small town in Southwest Germany, before relocating to Saarbruecken, a slightly bigger small town. In essence a raw psychedelic-blues duo that on the surface could be seen as kindred spirits to the likes of Wooden Shjips or Moon Duo, Pretty Lightning also appear to mirror a freak-folk sensibility found in the likes of Sunburned Hand of the Man and their Stateside compatriots. But they also reflect their closer geographic roots - echoing the communal, ritualistic krautrock of Amon Duul II or perhaps the primitivism of Sweden’s International Harvester (both Berghoff and Haas are also part of the Saarlouis-based Datashock collective)."
