Achraf Saadi

Achraf is one of our visual art residents. He will show new work during Vruchtbare Grond between September 19-28.

What's the purpose or goal of your work? Introspection. With all my personal work the main objective is to have a better understanding of my own mental and emotional process. I try to stay away from planned concepts and let my heart guide me.

Why do you want to make art? Because for me creating art is one of the truest forms of freedom. Being able to create something gives me the opportunity to tap into a part of myself that I wouldn’t interact with normally. Feelings of vulnerability, frustration; euphoria, and more all collide when creating art. To be that synchronized with myself is in itself liberating and is more than enough reason to keep on making art.

Do you have a network of other artists, and how do they support you? Yes, I ‘m part of a bigger entity known as the family of 23. This is a collective existing of musicians, visual artists and all-)around creatives. I would say They support me by giving me a place where I can try to become the greatest in what I do and putting their trust in me to collaborate an experiment.
