Where do you find inspiration?
I get my inspiration from everything that has to do with animals, animals that I see during the day, the way people treat animals, opinions I hear from people about them, conversations about animals or things that I overhear, advertisements or other animal imagery,... I also read a lot about animal ethics and those books give me a lot of inspiration because I have a visual brain, so while I read my mind creates images which can result in new works.

What motivates you to create?
I get motivated by my subject but also the urge to create and experiment. Through my work I want to advocate for animal rights, which motivates me to keep creating cause in our society there is so much harm done to animals, this makes me want to keep going so I can get better and better at making works that create a difference or make people reflect on our relationship with animals. Next to this quite heavy topic, I do want to make very colorful and fun works so trying to find this balance between my visual language which is very bright and naï ve keeps me motivated to create and experiment with every art piece.

How does your work comment on current social or political issues?
I try to follow the media about what’s going on in the animal industry and things that are currently happening there. I think the animal rights movement is gaining momentum and more and more people are gaining consciousness about the animals and animal products that end up on our plates and how they get there. I hope that with my works I can be a part of this movement and have a positive influence on the people who see it.
